2025 KPMG Women's PGA Invades Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco

For the first time in history, the KPMG Women's PGA Championship will take place in the state of Texas. Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco is hosting the event for 2025 after hosting its first major back in 2023 when the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship was played there and won by Steve Stricker.
It's somewhat of a new chapter for the event's long history that dates back to 1955 when it was won by Beverly Hanson. Formerly known as the LPGA Championship, it's crowned winners with names like Mickey Wright, the only four-time winner of the event in 1958, 1960, 1961, and 1963. There are 12 past champions who in the field this week in Frisco, including defending champion Yang, Ruoning Yin (2023), In Gee Chun (2022), Nelly Korda (2021), Sei Young Kim (2020), Hannah Green (2019), Sung Hyun Park (2018), Danielle Kang (2017), Brooke Henderson (2016), Yani Tseng (2011, 2008), Cristie Kerr (2010), and Anna Nordqvist (2009).
World No. 1 Nelly Korda headlines the field as the 2021 winner of the event looks to win her third major after also winning the 2024 Chevron Championship. Korda finished P2 at this year's second major at the US Women's Open at Erin Hills.
Amy Yang hopes to defend her 2024 title she secured at the Sahalee Country Club. Yang was considered one of the best players on tour to have not won a major championship and finally broke through in her 75th attempt. Yang will seek to become the first athlete since Inbee Park last did so in 2015 to win the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in back-to-back years. She arrives in Frisco in search of her first top 10 of the season and off a missed cut in her last start at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give.
