Frisco RoughRiders Blank Corpus Christi Hooks 2-0; Win Opening Series 2-1

The Frisco RoughRiders won their second straight game with a 2-0 shutout of the Corpus Christi Hooks (Astros) in the rubber game of the three-game Opening Weekend series on Sunday at Riders Park in Frisco.
The win comes on the heels of a 5-2 win by the Riders on Saturday after dropping the season opener to Corpus Christi on Friday 7-5.
Gavin Collyer (1-0) registered the win for Frisco (2-1) on Sunday after 1.2 innings pitched in relief with two strikeouts and one hit allowed in his first appearance of the season. Righthander Trey Supak got the start for Frisco and pitched 5.0 innings of shutout ball with two hits, four strikeouts and no walks allowed.
Bryan Magdaleno (1.2IP, 3BB) and Avery Weems (1.0IP, 1BB, 1K) also pitched in relief before Daniel Missaki earned the save (1.0IP, 1K).
Sebastian Walcott scored Keyber Rodriguez with an RBI single in the seventh and Aaron Zavala hit an RBI sac-fly in the eighth to score Cameron Cauley for the two Frisco runs.
Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung appeared in his second game of a rehab assignment in Frisco and went 1-for-2 with a single in the first inning and a walk in the sixth.
Trey Dombrowski (0-1) picked up the loss for the Hooks (1-2) in relief after 2.0 innings pitched with one earned run, three walks and one strikeout. Jose Fleury got the start and pitched five innings of shutout ball with three hits, one walk and four strikeouts. Alejandro Torres (1.0IP, 1H, 1ER, 1K) also appeared in relief for Corpus Christi.
Next up, the RoughRiders visit the Kansas City Royals affiliate Northwest Arkansas Naturals (3-0) at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas, for a three-game series starting on Tuesday, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT.
