The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, are entering their 22nd season in the Texas League, with a focus on a fan-friendly promotional schedule and a strong roster including top prospects like Sebastian Walcott.
It's another new season, and owner Chuck Greenberg and general manager Scott Burchett have added new concessions, fan experiences, and promotions for the 2025 campaign.
The RoughRiders kick off 2025 on Opening Weekend on April 4-6 against the Corpus Christi Hooks. First pitch on Friday and Saturday are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT and Sunday at 4:05 p.m. CT.
The roster will include top Texas Rangers prospect in 19-year-old shortstop Sebastian Walcott, alongside nine other Rangers top 30 prospects and 23 returning players. The 2024 Tom Grieve Player of the Year, Alejandro Osuna, the Rangers' No. 8 prospect, will begin the season in Frisco after earning Texas League All-Star honors in 2024.
Winston Santos (No. 5) and Kohl Drake (No. 13) will return to open the season in Frisco. Other ranked Rangers prospects on the roster include 1B Abimelec Ortiz (No. 14), SS Cam Cauley (No. 19), LHP Mitch Bratt (No. 21), RHP Josh Stephan (No. 22), RHP Skylar Hales (No. 26). Cauley is the lone newcomer to the group after clubbing 35 extra-base hits and stealing 27 bases with Hickory in 2024.
The 2025 promotional schedule will include family-friendly events and activities that include Bluey from the show Bluey on June 7-8 and Paw Patrol stars Chase and Skye on May 28.
Rangers Night on June 6 includes Kumar Rocker Bobblehead Night, and June 29 will feature Throwback Night featuring Rangers and RoughRiders alumni.
Harry Potter Night will commence on May 3, ahead of Star Wars Night on May 4, while other promotional nights highlight the rest of the season and can be found on the team's website here.
The RoughRiders will don alternate identities for specific games, including the Dallas Black Giants (April 15 and July 20), Quesos de Frisco (May 16, August 3 and September 12), and Throwback Night (June 29).
