Texas Rangers 3B Josh Jung Scheduled for Rehab Assignment with Frisco RoughRiders

FRISCO - Texas Rangers third baseman appeared in just two games for the Texas Rangers to start the 2025 season before suffering neck spasms and being placed on the 10-day Injured List.
Jung will now begin his rehab assignment with the Frisco RoughRiders on Saturday as they host the Corpus Christi Hooks (Astros) at Riders Field.
Jung played in just 46 games with Texas last year with a wrist injury before appearing with the RoughRiders and Triple-A Round Rock Express in rehab assignments. While in Frisco last season, he hit .400 with one double and two RBIs.
In Saturday's 5-2 win over the Hooks, Jung went 1-for-3 with two RBIs with a fly ball single to right field in the bottom of the second inning that scored Ian Moller and Alejandro Osuna.
Jung was an integral part of the Rangers' first World Series championship in 2023, while earning AL All-Star honors and finishing fourth in AL Rookie of the Year voting. That season, the former Texas Tech Red Raider hit .266 with 23 home runs and 73 RBIs.
The RoughRiders and Hooks will meet again on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. CT at Riders Field with Jung expected to be in the lineup.
Fan Stream Sports will have a full recap of the three-game series post-game Sunday night.
