WATCH: PGA Tour's Patton Kizzire Punts Putter, Withdraws from Valspar Championship

This PGA Tour season hasn't been good to Patton Kizzire, and this weekend has been even worse.

After a T40 finish at The Sentry in the first tournament of the year, he's missed six straight cuts. That will now include the 2025 Valspar Championship, where his frustrations got the best of him during his first round of play.

Kizzire missed a short putt on the par-3 No. 15, turned around in anger, and flat-out punted his putter.

Kizzire's effort would've made some NFL punters proud. the 39-year-old got a good 20 yards on the fly but resulted in a massively bent shaft. He was forced to use his wedge to finish the hole.

The Auburn University alum withdrew from the tournament a little later with an apparent back injury. It's unknown if the "back injury" is a result of the kicking motion that ended his putter's usability.

Kizzire's last win came in September's Procore Championship with a 20-under score at Silverado Resort in Napa, California. He finished T11 the next week at the Sanderson Farms but proceeded to miss eight cuts over his last 10 starts. Kizzire has three total PGA Tour victories.
